Flu shot /vaccination

Hello, Does anybody on here get the flu shot?  Does it aggravate your vertigo?

I have been suffering from migraines and vertigo, off balance for almost a year.  So debilitating, that I had to stop working.  I am in perimenopause also.  After numerous tests, MRIs, all the bad stuff has been ruled out.  Going to see an otoneurotolgist next month who specializes in vertigo, as I believe I have some form of MAV/ vestibular migraines or vestibular neuritis...my symptoms match.

So far just bring told BPV from my primary dr.  On amitripyline now for migraines.

Since Dec 2017...Had strep throat twice and a sinus infection for the first time in my life.  Got the flu vaccine Oct 2017.  Vertigo very bad in Nov. and then on.  Bloodwork all normal except for past EBV and Herpes 6 or something...basically cold sores.

I typically get the flu shot every year at this time, but this year I may wait until after my specialist appointment.  I read horror stories that people got the shot and it activated something in their system causing vertigo.  Just seeing what others do...I am in the US and the flu is always a big topic.  Thanks!

Before I got all these dizzy issues, my 30yr old neighbor woke up to severe vertigo following a flu shot. After being worked up by her Dr, she was told it was migraine vertigo triggered by the shot. This was actually coming from her Dr, not just my or her opinion.

Because of that, I only occasionally get the shot. Of course that is bad advice if you are high risk for complications from the flu or it's a bad season. My allergist was the most helpful on this subject. She recommended that I get the shot split in 2 doses, 2wks apart. I was also to premedicate each time with benadryl. She says some are just more sensitive than others. When I've chosen to get the shot, this method has worked well at avoiding the various side effects including migraine and or vertigo.
