    Hi Joan,

When I went for my flu injection I told the Doctor I was on 15mg, she said no problem and gave me the injection and I've had no after effects, hope this helps, Max.

I am on 10 mg of prednisone due to PMR  - my rheumatologist said I could take the flu shot and I did so today - I'll lt you know if I have issues

Hi Joan, i was diagnosed withe PMR last Sept though had syptoms from around that June. My doc advised me to have the flu jag last year but i think it was because i had pneumonia (with complications) in the march...i asked him this year and he said "eh, well, yea i suppose so with your chest" so nothing was mentioned about my immune system being in a less than robust condition...i also don't or ever had (until the pneumonia) a 'bad' chest....p.s i think the pneumonia kicked off the PMR as the doc said i had 'massive' inflammation and infection markers...

I am into 2 and a half years with GCA and Polymyalgia and was contacted by my surgery about the flu jab, it's because on steroids our immune system is low. Had the jab with no side effects, if you are worried then read up on it x
