Fluid trapped in middle ear

I have had a problem with my left ear for about 4 years. I have been back and too to specialists and have been diagnosed with possible eustachian tube dysfunction. No one ever seems sure though. I have pushed and pushed and finally had the grommet I wanted fitted. The specialist saw liquid come out upon insertion and straight away said 'you MUST feel that immediate release'. I didn't. I still don't. Is there an operation to get this bubble out of my ear?? I can try and put up with everything else but I cannot handle this constant pressure in my ear sad

Hi Alison you are lucky cause you got an ENT to say what we know it is wrong Eusthachean tube dysfuntion. I know I have the same but my two ENT point to everything but that and I have had to find what works for me. The two ENTs one said it was an inexplicable thing of nature and the othe that it was a result of my jaws. But then right there in the office he uses AFRIN before he inserted the nose camara and my left ear pop open soon after, I called him a he reluctantly said well it may have to do with the E. tube....and I thought oh yeah and Santa comes every Xmass. Now I have been to the beach several times and I was caught in a big wave and swallow salt water and my left ear cleared up. So I wonder if saline water through the nose may be helpful cause the bubble is gone. So think about it and perhaps ask your doctor...it may be helpful....Im heading to the beach again today to see if I can inhale some sea water to see if it works....good luck to you

All of you please be careful what you put up your nose or in your ear.     I did it all. ....ooooh.       Infection became so bad ...        It became dangerous.     I would never do it again.
