HI Joyce, You're not alone. My GP prescribed fluoxetine for severe night sweats due to menopause and it's been working wonderfully. Normally I would not even consider taking this type of medication but I was at my wits end have soaked through my bed sheets and comforter more nights than not. I've been taking 10 mg every other night for about 3 months now and have only had night sweats about once per month. It's amazing. The doctor did warn me that there would be side effects for about 2 weeks but if you can get past them they will go away. For the first week I slept like a baby but had cravings for hamburgers and by the end of the week I felt pretty spaced out. That was with taking 10 mg per night. We reduced it to 10 mg every other night and the side effects went away and so did the night sweats. Good luck. I hope it works for you too. Sonja
