I was told by my GP that acid reflux was very common when taking Fluoxetine so I was prescribed Ranitidine to be taken twice daily , they worked perfectly , I would recommend that you ask your Gp to prescribe them for you they sure make a difference .

I take Ranitidine and It does help but acid reflux is a known side effect of flouextine.

Hi Claire, I was just going to put a post on here about acid reflux! I have been on Fluoxetine for 6 weeks but have noticed over the last week that my hiatus (tiny) hernia is playing up and I believe it is to do with my meds. Fortunately I know that my heart is ok otherwise I would think I was having heart attack at times! My chest feels so tight and heavy.. Drinking lots of warm water which does seem to help.  I have now got to come off the flu tho as my liver count has gone sky high and its more than likely the fluox as it did it when I was taking Citalapram! And yes, I don't feel as though I can take a deep breath either x
