Hi, i have Bipolar 2 and about 5 years ago started lamotrigine mood stabiliser which helped so much, i still got depressed but not so bad and not for so long but this year things came back with a big bang and after struggling for months finally sought help and my psychiatrist has given me fluoxetine to add into the mix but its sitting there, i'm scared to take it i have an autoimmune disease so take a lot of meds including a biologic injection and im scared of more side effects. has anyone used lamotrigine and fluoxetine together? i'd be very interested to hear how you're getting on and any side effects. Thanks in advance

    Hi

i started Fluoxetine now on 40mg and im now taking Lamotrigine 50mg morning working my way up to 50mg evening too. The side effects from the fluoxetine are much worse than the lamotrigine it takes a few weeks to settle down but they are good together you just have to wait for the side effects to subside . YOUCAN DO IT ! Just be patient and take care of yourself through the transition i also take quetiapine 300mg at night x
