    Hi there,

I can't remember the name of the med but I had that kind of symptoms when I started with one. The reason being that antidepressants can increase anxiety for a period of time when you first start taking them and anxiety can cause derealization and intrusive thoughts.

Can't you ask your doctor or pharmacist about it? for your peace of mind or maybe your doctor might consider some other option for you.

    Good luck!

hi, thank u for replying. i have made an appointment with my doctor for next week. How long did it take for youre medication to take affevt or for the derealisation and intrusive thoughts to disapear?

It's some time ago so I don't remember exactly, but it was about 2/3 weeks I would say. But in the end I spoke to my doctor because I still didn't like how I felt on it and he changed me to Mirtazapine.

Each person is different. He reckoned if I had stuck with it longer that it would have been better for my anxiety than Mirtazapine.

In any case, don't be afraid, it's quite normal, just discuss it when you can speak to your doc.
