fluoxetine dosage

I started on 20 mg fluoxetine for about a moth then increased to 40 mg for the next 7 months. Still have obsessive tendencies . Would another increase maybe help or is it time to try something else? I see my GP next week and I will discuss this. I realize I will never get rid of all the symptoms but I would like to just be a little better

I Dont think a drug will ever completely take away all things..... sometimes you need therapy in conjunction with medication..... thats what seems to have done the trick for me. Meds take care of most of peoples issues, but there seems to be about 10-20% that they dont help with...... maybe try some headspace meditation, energy healing, or talk therapy to see of it helps first before just jumping to up your dose again.

I have the need for things to be just right. For instance I hung some pictures, used a level to make sure they were perfect , then I will keep looking at them form time to time to make sure they still look ok. If take care of something I have the urge to do it right now and my anxiety spikes. Then if I take care of it I keep checking on it to be sure it is still ok

ok now I understand you. mmmm I couldn't see the prozac would conquer such symptoms. it is great for anxiety but possibly not your type of anxiety. being a perfectionist is a very tough job even with medication

I just keep plugging along. I have been doing acupuncture for a while and I meditate every day.

I've been on prozac for 8 months, ending with 40 for the last 4 months. I have panic disorder though and I just don't feel like it's working for me. I'm currently switching back to celexa.
