Fluoxetine increasing anxiety

Hi all

I have been on Fluoxetine now for about 7 months ( having previously been on it for over a year 3 years ago).

This time around, the MH Nurse and myself couldn't quite find the right dose of anti depressant for me - I tried Sertraline (no effect) Mirtazapine (no anxiety but a complete zombie) and then a combination of Fluoxetine and Propranolol (had to stop because it dropped my heart rate to below 50).She then upped my fluoxetine from 20mg to 40mg and it has been like this now for 3/4 months. However, I feel that even after this time, it seems to make my anxiety worse - i do not necessarily feel low in terms of mood, in fact I feel fine. However, the "butterflies" in my stomach and fear of something happening is quite overwhelming, particularly in the morning.

Has anyone else experienced Fluoxetine increasing anxiety even after taking it for a sustained period? I know this can happen when initially starting but its been a while now. How did you over come it? What other alternatives are left for me?

thanks

Alan
