Hey sharon, I'm not sure if your still using this but I've been taking it for 3 months officially now and have felt up and down.. I have horrible social anxiety and it has lessened but not 100% yet.. there are some days like the past 3 days where I feeled the side effects again but not as much right now any more and I had days where I felt almost completly free from anxiety and felt good. I have social phobia and unfortunately have trouble eating in public and just want to feel good again. I had a few days where I completly didnt give a f*** and stuffed my face but that last just a day or two..

You're welcome Suzanne
I have now been on flu for two years and it's made a world of difference for my depression I use to be so emotional and would cry over anything and everything
I find that I cry now when necessary not like before I would also get so angry and would lash out at people and would get so mad I would phase out and couldn't control anything
After a ton of research I went to a walk in (since my own lady doctor refused to put me on medication)
and asked to go on fluoxetine he agreed and filled out a prescription
I started on 20mg and after just less than a year bumped it up to 40mg
Friends and family have said that I'm like a completely different person now and more pleasant to live with according to my husband (who is on medication for bipolar) ha......
I only wish I had this medication when times were dark in my teens
I am now 31
If you have any other concerns let me know just think of everyday a stepping stone to be a better you!
Stick with it 😊

Can I ask how you knew that you needed to bump up to 40mg? I was on 5 mg a year while pregnant then went up to 10mg. I've noticed me depression has gotten worse around my menstrual cycle. I recently started 15 a week ago.

I think I def have PMDD. I can have one or two really great weeks then right during time of ovulation I'm severely depressed. I've been tracking it since Nov last year. Right now I just kinda feel flat so I'm wondering if this med is for me anymore. When you upped it did you experience side effects again?

Hi Sarah, thank you so much for sharing your experience .it really gave me hope. I'm just about at the end of my tether. In the last 2 months, I have been taken off of 3 different anti-depressants and was also given 2 tablets that I shouldn't have been taking together , so had to come off of one of them , And I have just started on Fluoxetine. I started on 20 mg and a month later to 40mg.since I've been on 40mg,( for 3 weeks now) Ive felt awful . At first I wasn't sleeping ,and was so agitated I couldn't sit still. Those feelings have improved now, but I'm still feeling really tired, have headaches , go hot and cold , and more of the listed side effects. I wondered if I was in too high a dose , or should I be patient and wait for the side effects to go? I would be grateful for any help

I didn't have any side effects bumping it because the lower dose was still in my system as I take flu nightly
Give it a shot you have nothing to lose
I feel so much more human

I take flu before bed and I find I have the best sleep
Maybe try adjusting your time taking it to night it made a world of difference for me as taking it in the mornings made me drowsy

I use and track my cycle and add notes
I knew I had pmdd based on comparing what I recorded for symptoms every month
Please note my own female doctor had no clue about pmdd and so I went to a doctor that did to confirm I had t
He compared it to what I felt inside like a jjekkyl hyde syndrome
This explained me to a T I always felt I had a mood disorder around my cycle far worse than the average pms
I would get so angry at people I would scream slam doors I couldn't control anything and would cry all the time I couldn't stand myself any more during those episodes I felt like I would rather be dead then again I had been through a lot taking care of my husband with his health problems which were some tough times
I didn't realize I had a problem until I got my hubs health under control
Have a look at pmdd symptoms and do some research on it it could be what you have

How were the side effects upping your dose? I'm only on day 13 of 20mg but I know I'll need to go to 30 or 40 to get where I need to be. I'm just scared that when I do increase the dose, the side effects will be really bad again 😞
Sorry to butt into your post lol
