Flupentixol and citalopram

I have been taking citalopram 10mg for 10 days and 20mg for 10 days - my psych is concerned that im not progressing on citalopram and have tried many other meds but not really for long enough and she is considering changing me to flupentixol which is worrying me as its an antipsychotic and i really struggle with side effects and i know flupentixol will have more. I really want to try for longer on citalopram. Has anyone had positive experiences of either of these drugs? Im desperate to hear some experiences as really worrying. Plesse reply xxxxxxxxx

I've tried all the tablets available, well so the useless doctors tell me. All the tablets are useless. I'm on 40mg now, the highest dosage available. And still no effect.

    fluoxetine gave me headaches.

All the tablets are pretty useless. Doctors dont care. what does some rich middle class doc care if some lower class person tops themself? Theyll still get a wage.

I found both the drugs you mention to be useless. Neither helped me or heightened my mood at all. I am still trying to find a tablet that actually works.

I was on clomipramine for 9 years which worked really well but my problems started when the manufacturers stoped mskong my dose.....when they came back on the market i couldnt get back on them.....maybe you could give them a go - took a while first time to get on them as I had alot of restlessness but worked well for anxiety, panic and depression eventually...kept me well for 10 years on a low dose. Yes i know what you mean, just keep trying and if the doctors arent helping refer to a psych xxxxx

if you are finding that these tablets dont work for you (citalopram made me worse) there are so many other options for you. i used to take matrazapine at night which helped me sleep due to night terrors they where amazing and worked wonders, i only came of them due to having a baby and not wanting to be dosed up at night. so i changed to sertraline and they are just as good. ive only ever suffered a few side effects unlike other tablets. so if yoi can and they are available i would recommend trying them. they take about 3 weeks to get into your system. i hope you are able to find the right medication and that you are doing well
