Hi, I’ve had the same problem as you, went to ophthalmologist with foreign body sensation, they have given me so many eye drops (including FML) with no benefits, I was later diagnosed with blepharitis and I can tell you after months that what makes the difference is warm compress and lubricant eye drops. Buy an eye mask from any shop or amazon (those that you can warm up in the microwave) and do 10mins of warm compress, massage you eyelid and repeat for 5 more min (do this twice a day).  This has helped more then any other medical remedy. Hope it helps!
