I have This foamy urine, i probably notice it for 1 week already, i dont pay attention before this 1 week, because i only pay attention when i stumble upon some article that said foamy urine is a sign of cancer. but later i found out foamy urine indicate that you have a proteinuria which is a sign of kidney failure, the foam is a white foam (not transparant bubble) the beer like foam and when i hit the side of the toilet the foam is still there but when i do a urinalysis and a blood test everything came back fine except there's +1 keton in my urine, but the docter said im fine. im non alcoholic non smoker and just weight 56kg can the urine test be wrong ? or any of you experience false negative before ?
thankyou.. forgive my bad english since its not my mother language

Paskalis,
You should be able to trust your lab results. Is your doctor planning to repeat them any time in the future? If not you might ask to have them repeated in a year or so just to keep a watch on the situation.
However, there are some who post in this forum who have foam in their urine without elevated protein levels. They will probably respond to you soon to share a little of their experiences.

PS Your English is just fine🐶

Funny.. i just went down this road too..
I had the same concern, with my previoud blood tests looking good (GFR above 90, creatinine and BUN normal), and urine test showing no protein and blood (and that test did foam). At this point, if your tests look good, just chalk it up to one of many, MANY people who do make foam for whatever reason.
Also, keep in mind that there are many with CKD that do not have foam or protein in their urine. I think this tends to be one of those "symptoms" that has been overhyped by sites (indeed, you can find many doctors on Q&A boards saying they aren't concerned when seeing it.

Have you shared your concerns with your doctor? It may be helpful to learn how frequently you should be monitored as well as how quickly this can develop.
For instance, I'm at high risk for colorectal cancer. My doctors have shared with me how quickly polyps generally develop; how they have based my colonoscopies frequently enough to catch any polyps I may be forming very early, etc. That additional information has given me much more peace of mind about that possible medical problem.

im planning on scheduling appointment with an internist to just to get rid of the anxiety, i recently read a lot about bence jones protein and they said if u heat ur urine to around 55 degree some white thing will precipitate from the bottom of the container,so i did it, in this case i use a pan and heating it on the stove and found nothing precipitate, but i still plan on doing the test anyway for real medical data, i wish you all the best marj your help is very much appreciated

Hi,
I was reading your comment and went across "many with CKD that do not have foam or protein in their urine." So I was recently diagnosed with CKD my gfr is 65 and creatinine is 100 and no protein in my urine. Im 30 yrs old female and I've been told I must not follow CKD diet as I'm having different CKD type than usual CKD patients especially I dont have proteinuria. So was trying to find out more about ckd without proteinuria online but couldnt find too much infos.. do you know anyone like me or did you come across some information related to my case? Thank you appreciate it in advance.

How are you doing? I also have foamy urine and tested mine for be very heating. Nothing happened. Dipstick test also no protein. It could just be dehydration. Coffee bubbles a lot when heated it has no protein in it but is bitter. I tasted myburine it's also bitter and strong tasting. Coincidence? I think not. Also myeloma is extremely rare in under 30s. In USA its 3-5 people in 100000 and all are 60 above.

In order to accurately measure proteinuria, you must collect your urine for about 24 hours in a container., it must collected every time you urinate and stored in a a cold area for example, a refrigerator. Your doctor should have ordered it for. you. Or suggested this procedure.
Then the lab measures it,, to determine when excess protein occurs. The lab will know if you missed urinating one time, so you must empty all of your urine in the container.
Ask your doctor if this procedure should be done. To collect 24 hours of your urine.
That is the one test that found that I had protein in my urine moat of the day. But it also forced me to say home on the weekend in order to collect all my urine in the container, so that on the Monday, I took the container to the lab when it opened. Hopefully your lab is where your doctor is.
I don't know if this procedure is still done, but I had a lot of foamy urine and was told I had a kidney disorder. Based on my protein level from point 5, to point 6, to point 9, and then 1.5 which occurred in one week. Then a kidney biopsy was ordered. Results I have 2 genetic kidney disorders.
Minimal Change Disease and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis, or FSGS. After, I was told about the 2 disorders the doctor told me I would eventually have to go to a haemodialysis center because my kidneys would eventually fail. Twenty five years later, I go to a dialysis center , every three days.
I hope you go to a doctor and have the 24 urine collection done now.
It may help you to understand if you are losing to much. protein from your kidneys, or if you have a kidney disorder, that may occur in the future.
You should also have a follow up appointment to measure your proteinuria every month. Just to make sure that it is not increasing. That is what my doctor did, Mine did increase every month. If it goes up to 2 point or 3 point, that shows that your kidneys are falling.
Good luck. Dialysis. saved my life. I will be on some form of dialysis for the rest of my life Because I will never get on a transplant list mainly because I have a circulation problem. I had part of my leg removed due to diabetes and my circulation problems, so I will never get a kidney transplant.
There are lucky ones that can get a kidney transplant, like my cousin's husband. I was happy for him. I am not mad or sad that I cannot get a kidney. He was just a lucky . You may be lucky too.
Good luck
