Does anybody know if this procedure is available in the UK, private or NHS?

As far as I know there are only two places in the USA - Houston and Florida  - that offer this procedure. I am currently in conversation with the Houston practice and will be uploading MRI to check if I'm a suitable candidate for the op. Would love to know if there are more than two practices in the world doing this procedure. My urologist here in Hong Kong had never heard of it.

Steven, if you wish to contact Peter, I can give you his email. I know Peter did go forward with Dr Karamanian in Houston and last I conversed with him he felt it was a big success. I will provide you his contact t via personal message shortly. My FLA was also in Houston 18 months ago and I am very pleased.

, good morning Peter to send a personal message you have to hit the reply to the person you're going to send it to and the next screen that comes up look for the envelope at the top by their name hit that envelope with your finger and it will sign you in personal message you will have to put your email and password in and you can save it so you don't have to put it in every time and then you hit the personal message button below that after it shines on and you can send a personal message just like I'm sending you this one. Hope you're doing well if you cannot get in and want to send someone your email let me know and I will send it to them using a personal message talk to you soon John

I had HoLEP done one month ago and would recommend it. Easy recovery, catheter 2 days, minimal pain, no complication. HoLEP removes more tissue than any other method, and it can be analyzed for cancer. Retro ejaculation is guaranteed, and it is no problem. Unfortunately, in my case, a cancer (Gleeson 7) was discovered, so I am looking into FLA to deal with that.

      Bruno59,

Did you proceed with the FLA option?  How are you doing now?  I would have hoped that HOLep would remove most of the prostate tissue along with any cancer cells but I guess that’s not the case???  Good luck to you

Hello Jason, as noted earlier, I had Holep because I could not pee.

?In the sample of the removed prostate, was found one small piece of Gleeson 7 cancer.

?My plan was to go to doctor K for FLA. I have waited 2.5 month for the prostate to heal before I got 3T MRI locally. The MRI showed no visible cancer. Looks like the cancer doesn't show up on the MRI, or Holep got it all. I have decided to tune out of the prostate worry. I am not doing anything now. Not even PSA. My PSA was always low and even DRE didn't indicate cancer..

?I am waiting for the new improved isoPSA test. The post holep prostate is ok. 9 month now.

?No problem peeing, the prostate is slowly healing. No problem with incontinency, or ED. RE after holep is permanent, and it is not a big issue for me.

?One thing that helps with the prostate is cranberry juice.

?Looking back, I see Holep as one of the best options. If in a future the cancer shows up on a MRI, I would choose FLA.

Not that I am aware of but many men are coming over to Houston to do the procedure. From Honk Kong Peter came and Michael from Australia. Dr. Karamanian is the absolute best in this procedure. He can analysis if, what and why you would need FLA is you just get an MRI and send it to him via his web site.

If you need contact information let me know.
