Folic acid deficiency

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have been feeling rubbish for a few months now - back and chest pain, arm and leg weak and tingly, tired etc. Had my bloods done and they showed that my folic acid levels were very low so my doctor prescribed me 5mg a day of folic acid for four months.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and when did your symptoms start to get better?

It has only been a couple of weeks since I have been taking the vitamins but thought I would feel at least a little bit better by now.

Vitamin B12 is one of the many vitamins that are vital for maintaining the cell formation in the body along with keeping up your energy levels. i also experienced tingling and had low folic acid or B 12 deficency took vit B supplements and food = rich in vit -12 .SEE ONLINE A WHOLE list. low levels of B12 is normal as we age and can make us feel tired an also effects the nervous system, tingling you feel will go away in a few weeks. I still take included in a combination daily vitamin and a better diet.

Thanks for the reply. Fingers crossed it begins to fade - it was starting to frustrate and worry me.

Another quick question. Is it common to have back and side pain as some of the symptoms? I have seen a lot about the tingling but not much about chest pain.
