food diaries

Oddly enough after 3 months of pain this time that just kept getting worse I stopped eating eggs and it was like someone flipped a switch. Not 100% better but wow 95% better overnight. I can't believe it. I had been doing a diary but was not diligent with it. Write down everything that passes your lips people. I also write if I have a poo so I can see everything. Well I now have one more food to add to the list in the back of my diary. I am so glad I figured out that eggs were hurting me. Now I can see if I can have ketchup again (I thought it was ketchup). ? I am so glad the pain is going away so I can ever so slowly start fiber again.
Write it down. I could have saved myself a month of horrible pain if I had figured it out sooner.

I am so glad you figured that out Julie! Long ago I kept having severe allergy attacks and even with allergy testing the list of food to avoid was huge. I kept a food diary of everything I ate and then if I had an attack I wrote the time etc. I finally went to Duke Hospital to a specialist who took one look at the list and said you are allergic to aspirin! Sure enough 23 years later I have never had another problem once I avoided the aspirin. I feel like this is sort of the same, we are going to have to figure out our own foods and they will differ for each of us.
Although I can tell I want to follow others on this. Just yesterday my Dr told me I must keep a food diary and that I am not getting enough protein. I thought I will try to add in some eggs. Now I read your post and I am thinking maybe I should not do eggs! But the point is I think there are some things we all must avoid and most of us are learning those things. But then there are some foods that may bother you that will not bother me. But the problem is- I don't want to try things and have them bother me. I did that with blueberries and I am still recovering 3 weeks later. Now I hear things like blueberries have tough skins... but I never heard that before I ate them and had trouble. Plus the dietitian had recommended I start a little blueberries and oatmeal. I don't fully trust anyone who does not have this! We need to help each other more with food ideas. I just don't know how to go about doing it.
I am so glad you found the egg culprit. That is so easy to avoid. Easier than ketchup for sure! Lol
I hope you continue to see improvement!
