Okay, so if we can't have a bit of a giggle..... I see you are hitting all the basic food-groups...M & Ms, caramel, fudge..... good for you!  Someone, somewhere in this group suggested dark chocolate as being something that helps to relax the stomach sphincter muscle....so I have some dark chocolate every day, and I think it 'does' help....that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!  lol.... glad you are getting better every day....gives me and everyone else, 'hope'   November 3rd, can't come too soon for me, and hopefully after that, I'll be able to eat.   This has been a rather 'down' day for me....your 'various candy' was a lift to me!

I'm glad you agree with my main food groups and agree with the dark chocolate too.  I'm sorry you have to wait so long.  I got very lucky.  I finally called the doctor and he had a cancelation so I got to see him the next day.  After meeting with him he scheduled the barium swallow for three days later, and about a week after that I went in for surgery.  I was also lucky because he is the only doctor in this area that does this surgery and has a lot of experience.  I'm going back in on Tuesday and plan to ask his opinion on food just sitting.  On another site I saw feedback where there can be issues if the funduplication to prevent reflux is too tight.  Unfortunately, if that is the issue it will require surgery to fix.  Either way, I'm better off now than I was before.

I wish you the best and hope time passes quickly.

Thanks Ed.   Through the wise-thinking of an ENT specialist, I was sent for the specialized test [catheter with sensors], at the only place in our Province that does the test.  The diagnosis was Achalasia [100% diagnosis].  The ENT consulted with her surgeon-husband, who recommended I be referred to the only surgeon in our Province who doess the Heller Myotomy surgery.  All this happened over a couple of months, and this is actually 'fast' in our Province.  The surgery on Nov. 3rd, is only 5 months after diagnosis, which isn't bad for this Province; surgery would've been a month sooner, if my GI specialist's office hadn't taken 1 month to send over the info they had.  Anyway, its just 5 weeks to go.  Have had my pre-op physical and tests [yesterday].  And, I am very hopeful.  Thank you for your support.
