I know what I should eat but I'm wondering if there are specific foods or food groups I

should avoid? Two years in and getting by on 9mg daily. I don't have much appetite until around dinner (6pm) and then I WANT TO EAT EVERYTHING.

Carbs are a good food group to restrict as that should help with both weight gain and the possibility of developing steroid-induced diabetes. In particular processed and white carbs such as flour products and potatoes, rice and so on.

It's just such a shame that I always crave all those particular foods. Sometimes only chocolate cake will scratch the itch. However, I agree that it's better to stay away from all the things you listed.

Eileen is right. I developed diabetes type 2 from the prednisone, but immediately switched to a very low carbohydrates lifestyle with moderate exercise. My A1C tests have come back normal for 6 months. Plus I lost 20 lbs.
