Foot bone

Do your bone really heals after six weeks? I am in my 5th week, after a tri- injury. I'm wearing the boot, but can't wait until I can get in another kind of support. My patience is getting so short.

I’d say 7-9 weeks for trimalleolar. Eat lots of dark greens no alchohol until bone has set.

Everyone's bones heal at different rates and listening to your specialist is very important.Wear your boot to prevent any damage as poor healing now could cause arthritis as you get older.Be patient as it is only for a few weeks in your life.Very best wishes Nonita

I was told 12 weeks before I could weight bear at all. An area behind one of the plates is not completely healed and the last surgery was 8/14/17. This has been a long and painful journey but it does get better over time with PT and perseverance.  Hang in there!
