    Hello,

First you need to stick with your physicians directions Putting all your walking pressure on your toes may damage the work to fuse your ankle. Ankles are painful after surgery and this may go on for up to 6 months.

At least you are 3-4 months out and hopefully this pain will subside soon.

i must admit the past week i have been getting impatient but im so scared of putting weight on it with no crutches i also disnt realize it would be auch a long road to recovery

      Taksta

I've been thru 3 joint replacements and shoulder repair over the last decade. I always am in a big hurry to recover and it has set me back a bit.

Keep up the effort and you'll be fine. Stick with your physicians protocols.

As far as fear of pain with weight bearing....remember there is a certain amount of pain to bear in recovery. I've always decided to get it over with ASAP.

Try weight bearing with your crutches in hand. You'll be surprised what you can tolerate. Go slow but steady. You'll get there.

      Best Wishes

Sorry for your pain . You had an ankle fusion , which means you have a very long recovery. Do everything your surgeon says to do. Don't push putting weight on it. You should be in PT by now.

Good luck! 😃 and take things slowly!

I understand and not realizing myself, how life altering having surgery could be. having to go through all the extra surgery,s the grafts, vacu u nits,IV theropy . still not healed almost 8 months later. I honestly would not have had it done. sorry dont want to make you feel bad . but when I think about my surgery it just makes me angry.

Taksta, thank you for sharing this with us and I really hope you start to heal properly very soon.

The doctors are telling me I must have both ankles fused and both feet fused too. I'm very scared of the whole idea. Can I ask which hospital you had your operation at?
