Foot is red and feels really hot to touch - anyone else experienced this?

Hi

I had bunion surgery and big toe alignment 9 weeks ago.  I’m managing to get about a lot more than I could at the start but I’m finding that after being on my feet for more than a couple of hours my foot is red, swollen and feels really hot to touch.  Just wondering if this is normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Louise

I’m at 12 weeks and if I’m on my foot too long it still throbs and I know I have to immediately get it elevated above my heart and I have an ice machine I wrap around it. It really is the best advice I’ve seen, and I’ve looked a LOT! lol. Too much! it’s just frustrating to not be able to get much done still! some days are really good, and I go to PT. I’ve also worked since week 2, but had to take many breaks and elevate and ice. I’m super happy it is much much better now, but it sure is a long recovery isn’t it?! totally normal though, this is my third surgery. First time on this right one, though.

I hope this helps! I had a lapidus bunion removal.

      Thanks Dona.

At least I know it’s nothing to worry about now.

It seems to be taking forever to get better - I can’t wait to get back to normal.

Red and Hot is not normal....some redness but better safe than sorry ,,see the doctor to be sure its not infected.
