Foot numbness post THR

I had a right THR on 12/715. I was beginning to make progress with PT. I have developed tingling and numbness in my right foot and recentl y in my left foot. I am totally numb on the outer right thigh 24/7. I can not drive or return to work yet. Has anyone else experienced this? I appreciate it!

I am only 6 weeks post op but I have the tingling in my left foot. I have had it since the op but it seems to be getting worse, the foot is also swollen. I've been to the doctors 3 times already the first 2 they told me it was too soon to tell. The last time they sent me back to the hospital to test for dvt but that was clear. I'm going back to the doctors on Monday I feel it's a damaged nerve problem but I'm having problems getting them to refer me for tests. My thigh doesn't seem numb but my foot is. I feel the surgeon won't let me drive when I see him for my assessment on the 8th March.

My toe related problem was not helped by having a second recovery starting just 10 weeks after the first.
Like everyone else, I get good days, and bad ones too.
If you're having a bad day, just remember that good days follow bad ones.

Hi Susan
I am 11 weeks post op, but still have tightness and swelling in my operated leg and also in my non operated leg .
I have seen the consultant an my Gp who say it is early days yet and that the swelling will go
I also have bad pain when sitting or lying on my backside, feels like i am sitting on a pile of rocks,
I dont know what approach my consultant used but my scar is about 15 inches long down my leg and across my buttock.
I will leave my problems to sort themselves for another couple of weeks , and then i think another visit to the Gp will be in order if no better.
The hip itself is fine and progressing niceley its just the pain in the legs and bum.
Does anyone think some private physiotherapy might help
Let me know if you have any luck with your problems in your feet
