Foot pain

Has anyone had foot pain with POLYMYALGIA?

I had surgery for plantar faschitis in Nov. I managed an easy recovery with no pain pills. Now all of a sudden I have intense foot pain in both feet. I'm

hoping it is just a new pair of shoes I wore a few days ago, but just curious. I was always under the assumption that POLYMYALGIA affected basically areas from the shoulders to the knees.

When I was diagnosed with PMR nearly every part of my body hurt including my feet, toes, and lower legs. If my nose had a joint it would probably have hurt too.

Sorry about your pain, and hope it is just your new shoes.

Many, many of us have pain in feet with PMR. I have had pain in my ankles and large toes since I began with this lovely illness four years ago.

Whatever made you think only shoulders to knees were affected?  Shoulders, upper arms. wrists, hips, knees AND feet are often affected (as John  seems to have suffered, too).

Of course not everyone has all these difficulties, and you may be one of the lucky ones.

    Good luck!

Some pain in feet but also some in hands as well.  Affects all muscles.  Hope it gets sorted.

I also have a pain in my right foot. It's on the top and right hand side, if I lift my right leg then turn the foot so that the sole faces the left foot I get a sort of "ripping" pain. Not sure if it is PMR related but as I have "new" pains since this lovely condition hit me I tend to believe it is.

Personally I don't like new shoes until they are about six months old. Luckily I'm an old scruffy hippy type so old shoes look great to me.

    Hope the pain goes soon.

    All the best

I have intense foot pain too, I was told I had bunions and this had dislocated my toe.   I was referred to from podiatrist to othopeadics so that I could have the operation in hospital rather than with them.

Orthopeadics  are sayin the pain is from my PMR or possibly it could be I have RA and that the 'dislocated toe, is not dislocated its hammer toe for which I'm having an op at the end of March.

    hope you're feeling better soon.

I've had 3 foot surgeries. Arthritis in 2009 before I had PMR, plantar fachitis surgery and neuroma surgery on both now, last one was this past Nov. 2015. I mentioned to the podiatrist I had pain on top of my foot, but he couldn't find anything. Now I believe it's the beginning of a flare. Last Oct this happened just before a flare. It is intense. I've noticed it again as I also have buttocks pain and shoulder discomfort. I'm in my 3rd year of Prednizone and 5 yrs with PMR. ITS NOT GETTING BETTER, JUST WORSE. I'm currently on 5 mg. I had female surgery in Dec. also, a lot of stress I guess. I was hoping I'd breeze thru the PMR. Guess not. 😩
