Foot pain after being non weight bearing for 6 week???

Hey guys, I just had surgery to remove my bone fusion in my ankle that has bothered me for about 5 years now. It has been 6 weeks and finally the doctor is letting me put weight on it and resume to my normal activities. I was wondering if it is normal to have pain in my foot when I put full weight on it? I’ve never had anything like this done and am hoping nothing else is wrong. If anyone could give me an answer it would be gladly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

How do you get rid of a fusion? When they fuse the bones they grow together as one usually to another bone. Usually a knuckle or a Joint. If you take it out are you just rebreaking the bones and letting the tops of the bones heal. Or are they amputating the now one bone.
Also when my foot which I had 2 bones fused per leg and a tendon transplant and my Achilles Tendon stretched I too was non weight bearing for Two months . Literally in a wheelchair then still in a cast for six months and then a boot for Two more and then a years worth of physical therapy. Seriously my son broke his foot and even he was in a cast for 2 months non weight bearing. So why after 6 weeks is your Dr doing this? Get a second opinion. I was looking bing in NY for all but 2 of those surgeries. It takes a long time to heal but it’s so much better the pain.
Let me know you’ve tweaked my curiosity lol
