Foot Problems?? Help please

I've dhd since birth and after years of pain and suffering I had a THR of my left hip in October 2004 when leg length difference was also addressed with bone being added during my op. I have the odd twinge but nowhere near the pain I had before. About 5 years ago i started experiencing pain in my left foot which gradually got worse to the point where it is almost unbearable. I was refered to a foot specialist at the hospital where I had my THR and although I asked on each visit, I was told the problem with my foot was nothing to do with my hip. I've had 2 pain relief injections, due to have a third next week. I've recently started to see a local chiropractor as i have curvature to my spine and arthritis and he recommended i see the sport therapy guy attached to the practice for some help in relieving the pain in my foot and he was shocked by the diagnosis the doctor had given me and even more shocked that they hadn't recommended insoles and that the fractures in my foot are stress fractures caused by leg length difference. I told this to my doctor when i next saw him and he suddenly completely changed his tune. I was just wondering if there is any one else on here thay has had a similar problem and can offer any advise? I've tried to include as mich info as poss without waffling too much. Thank you

Hello.  I am curious as to what has happened with your foot since this post.  I have a left THR (Aug 2004) and now have pain on the top of my left foot. I haven't had it evaluated yet, but it seems like a stress fracture to me.  I also have a leg length difference but this occurred after the surgery and has never been addressed/treated.

Hi. I had my third steriod injection last month which is the last that I can have so I'm niw worried about what to do next as the pain is already starting to come back. I'm back and forth to the hospital and my gp as i'm just not satisfied with my treatment so far. It has just been one dead end after another and it seems no-one wants to help or that my problem is so complex that it's easier to do nothing. It would seem that my only option is to have a fusion op on my foot the thought of which horrifies me as I was kindly informed by the doctor at the pain clinic is not a very nice op and that most people that have had one regret doing so. I have multiple fractures in foot and can't help feeling that had the orthapeadic specialist made the correct diagonis at the outset things may not have got this bad. I would recomend you ask your gp to refer you on and look into getting insoles to help cushion your foot. the bridge of my foot has collapsed and this is now causing problems with the muscle in my lower leg. Please let me know how you get on.
