I am exactly a week post op!

I'm still in agony and have a pin sticking out of my toe!

I really need some advice today I have been feeling a lot of pins and needles after having my foot on the floor and now I am feeling as though my foot is very very warm but is that just me over thinking it? What shall I do?

You haven't said what surgery you have had but i suppose that doesn't really matter under the circumstances. I would definitely elevate the leg/foot as much as possible. If your foot feels warm i would call the post surgery unit to ask if this is normal as they will know what type of questions to ask you to know if it is infected and they would probably want to see you! Good luck

I have friebergs disease and the operated on the same foot last year and damaged the nerve in the process so I was unable to move my toes.

Last week they operated to remove all the scar tissue and remove a little more of the bone to relax the toe and hopefully make it move but they have had to pin it to hold it together for 6 weeks .. Hope that makes sense

You forgot to say how long passed from your surgery, after opening my cast in week 6, your problem now was one of mine also... But Doctor told me to ignore it and try to walk (by using crutches) after one week of this trying & ignoring; these specific feelings were gone...

    Hey Lydia,

I'm probably too late but I've experienced that as well. When I was less than 3 weeks past post op having my foot down felt like it was going to explode and I could fee all of the incision sites. It was usually resolved by keeping it elevated. Also, my foot would heat up quite a bit as well. I've read that it was a part of the healing process, which kind of makes sense with everything that is at work. I would say ask about the extent of it and get advise from you dr but it sounds very familiar from my experience.

Never too late I am now 4 weeks post op and still feeling the same yet I can see my foot because all the bandages have gone! So now my foot turns purple it's quiet worrying tbh 😵

Do not panic! Foot turning purple in week 4, is usually not a big deal at all. Do not Afraid.

I am also experiencing sharp shooting pains from the toe up the foot ... should I get it check out?

Exactly when you have this pain? In what situation and position this pain happens to you?

About this one I’m not sure,

But generally pains and color changes in week 4 happens a lot! Sure it’s too soon.

You better not afraid at all! Listen to your surgeon, and do what he told you, if you have not access to him them ask from your PT. Just do not afraid, and also accept the fact that pains would be there for sure.
