For those with G-HSV1

I was recently diagnosed with G-HSV1 (oral with BF of 1.5 years - I am unlucky with those odds). I have read the literature on reoccurance rates; but would like to hear from those who have it, how many reoccurances have you had since your primary outbreak?

i was diagnosed august 2020 blood results showed a low result so indicated i was infected 2-4 months prior with HSV1 from my 2 year relationship. i had 4 sores on initial outbreak. i havent had one since - down there BUT i keep getting a rash on my left arm in the inside fold of elbow. i believe this is my 'outbreaks' look for Kevin Canada's discussions on here and he explains his outbreak rash on his back. at first i took valcyclovir daily and since i didnt have any outbreaks i stopped. i think this is when my arm rash wouldnt stop appearing. i have started the med again daily this past week and my arm rash is going away

I will look out for his thread. It is good to hear at least no more breakouts down south. I was told only take the 10 day valtrex and then i should be okay. i will keep meds on me if needed, for sure. My body has been itchy, i don't know if it is related or I am being paranoid.

i am allergic to various things and for the past 15 years would occasionally have a skin reaction so i dismissed my arm as another allergic reaction. but it seemed to almost happen every month i also thought it was weird i only had the one OB down south. reading kevin's post and others stating the same skin rashes - seemed most were on arms, upper arms and some on outside thigh or behind knees - i'm really thinking my arm is were my OBs have been. but their's is HSV2. planned parenthood put me on the daily medicine i hope they continue it and don't try to reduce it. i dont know how i feel about it being in my arm - i live in the hot south and its super hot all year ti wear long sleeves.

oh and yes i also always feel itchy before and at the start of an arm rash appearing - the area is sore to press on. not painful but tender. the bumps arent fluid filled either - just red bumps and sometimes so bad they have all connected to make one lump. now that i think i know the medicine will help - i definitely wont let it get so far bad.
