Foreskin problem

Hi everyone,
So I've had this problem for around a year or so now. I had been prescribed some hydrocortisone cream to loosen the foreskin as i had trouble pulling it back however i recently had another appointment and they told me this is just dry skin. Does anyone have any idea if its that or anything more serious. i am planning to go back to the doctors again soon about it.!!

Hi you should have it checked again and maybe a referral to a dermatologist as it could possibly be lichen sclerosus or BXO

Thanks for the reply, i thought it would be that as i do have pretty bad ezcema on my wrist and its thought it could be linked. Ill book a doctor appointment again soon, in the meantime is there any suggestions for any cream that i could get to maybe calm it down?

Yeah that's the best thing to do see your doctor or dermatologist as soon as you can. I would try keeping the foreskin retracted keep it clean and use a little moisturiser. Let us know how you get on

I fully agree with Ivan on this - I have BXO myself and you need to get a Biopsy done to confirm what it actually is - I would add that you need to acknowledge that as you have quite a high level of Eczema that you immune system is compromised to the level that it is impacting on your skin, and Genital Skin can be susceptible to problem issues.
In addition, you can greatly help your skin generally by looking at the role of diet, correct nutrition and the role of vitamin and mineral supplements in helping to give your immune system a much needed boost.
I would add that, if the turns out to be BXO / LS anything such as skin creams and moisturisers could have a detrimental impact on the affected skin - better would be anything that was plant extract based such as a quality Aloe Vera gel used sparingly. Fully agree with the need to retain full-movement in the foreskin through regular retraction - and, very light stretching done everyday would also help.
You will need to see a Dermatologist to get the identification of what it is that is going on, so if you see a family doctor / GP / PCP first ask for a referral to a Dermatologist - you are likely to see a Dermatologist if you go to a major sexual health service provider such as city centre based services - or if you live in the UK you could go to a GUM Clinic at the largest General Hospital in the region in which you live, that way you are more likely to see a specialist more directly.
Once you have a diagnosis I can help you with the practicalities of dealing with the ongoing penile skin issues you have .....
