Forgot to take steroids this morning! Do I need to go home?

I’m on 13mg and feeling good. Have got to work and realised I didn’t take any steroids this morning. Should I go home now and take them, wait till lunchtime and go home or can I wait until 6pm tonight and be ok?

    Hi Liz, I nearly did the same thing this morning ! However, that doesn't answer your question.  I think that everyone is different in how long each dose keeps on top of the inflammation and perhaps this isn't something you want to find out.  You could try and take an early lunch maybe?  I am sure the sooner you take them the better as it will take a little while before the steroid starts to deal with the inflammation.  Good luck

    Hi Liz,

    I forgot to take mine altogether one day, and didn't remember until 6.00pm!!

    so I missed one at took the regular dose the following day, that was 6 months ago and I'm ok!

    Your last dose is good for up to 12 hours from the time you took it. See how you feel. I would go home at noon take the dose and stay home for the day.

    I would not want to go through any kind of relapse at work like I have experienced in my own home but that’s me. Good Luck

    No advice on that as it is a bit late other than to say go and get a pack of pred and stick it in your purse immediately! Always have at least one day's dose with you. Then you never have the problem of needing to "go home". And even better is a dosette box for the week that you carry with you - then you will see quickly if you took today's dose or not.

    I never leave the house without a dosette box with 24 hours worth of medication in it, a ziplock bag with a pack of everything is taken for a day trip away from the village! I have multiple medications but even if I only took one tablet a day it would be in a box for the whole week and taken with me!!!!

      I did that as soon as I got back home. Will never be in that position again! Luckily it was a quiet day at work and there was no problem with me going off for an early lunch.
