Found my own solution

Going to get straight to the point. Typed in all my symptoms and landed here. I'm not a medical professional and can only hope this medication I stumbled across can help someone else. Betahistine is what I'm calling my miracle pill, hopefully it can work for you. If any of the following experiences apply to you it might.

It started with what I'm told is likely ocular migraines (no official diagnosis). Fatigue and flashes of light in one or both eyes, similar to lights passing through a tree line in my peripheral vision. A couple months later I had a sudden onset of vertigo. First time. This was accompanied by fatigue, memory loss, inability to focus, brain fog. I prided myself on my memory and was struggling to keep it. I started taking the betahistine -I requested it from my doctor after my lucky stumble into it. I was finally able to function. Note- I was also told by doctors I could be suffering from multiple things at once but the betahistine cleared my head, and fast!

It was only 4 months in when I found it but the very next morning I felt amazing! Not close to 100% but it gave me hope.

Vertigo finally went and was feeling good so hadn't taken it for a 2-3 months and only took it because I was having ear pain. I was feeling out of it but didn't realize how much until then. Yes, my ear pain went away but again fully alive the next morning, brain fully functional. It was good to feel good again. Not sure why this works for me but so be it and with the series of events I feel it's working on the brain fog.

For years I've had earaches, accompanied by headache, sometimes numbness or tingling in the face or head and for years I've just gone on with my life, no Dr. able to help, too often feeling unheard or believed. I'm not a stressful person and have never associated any of what's going on to stress or depression, just stuck it out. Seen 2 ENT's, so it's not Menieres, waiting on a neurologist still. Who knows, maybe a diagnosis will come yet. ..?

Main point to this longer than anticipated shout out is betahistine helped my brain fog, loss of memory and gave me my focus back. The side effects are minimal but unfortunately beta blockers aren't for everyone but doesn't hurt to try. Hopefully your doctor's will at least agree with that. Good luck to anyone that may ever suffer the same!

hi i have had really weird symptoms for the past two weeks. i have had really bad brain fog, and confusion. i dont feel like myself and feel spacey and disorientated all the time. I literally just dont feel myself. Doctors keep saying its anxiety and derealisation, but im not anxious and havnt suffered from mental health. Im really lost and i tried sertraline but it made me feel as if i was going insane so i stopped. Any advice on feeling better, i cant feel like this its destroying my life.

I was feeling the same way until the betahistine. Can't say why it's working but it's definitely not anxiety. Was so disoriented and just going through the motions in a dream like state. Unfortunately many Dr's go to anxiety immediately but if you don't think it's the case. I stopped taking it went my vertigo finally went away but eventually the brain fog returned, I took one pill before bed and woke up awake. Hope it can work for you!
