Four days after THR I took a shower

the hospital instructions said sponge bath for two weeks. My surgeon told me wrap it in cling wrap and take a shower! It felt amazing and my incision was fine 😊❤️

    Hi Tammy!

I had forgotten that I did the same thing 23 years ago with my 1st TLHR but without my surgeon's blessing, it felt wonderful to be clean again! I've got 2 weeks to go until my TRHR and my shopping list just got longer, thanks for reminding me! G X

To be able to take a shower makes such a difference! Cling film is wonderful is this instance...Fortunately I have been able to wash my hair at tthe kitchen sink after about a week, it was a lovely feeling.

Best wishes for a quick recovery

    Hi Tammy

i had a waterproof cover on my incision so I could shower.  They also sent me home with spares so I could change them now and again.

I totally agree tree I was desperate for a shower by the time I came home from the hospital.

I can't wait until Wednesday when my dressing will come off and I can shower.

I only have an over the bath shower and my hubby bought me a bath step, which made getting into the bath so much easier. I'm not sure I could have claimed over the side of the bath to get in the shower without it. It's such a simple little article but made my life sooo much easier. For anyone with a shower over their bath I would strongly advise getting one 😊

    Here's to being clean again!!

I've been thinking about you. I'm so pleased to hear that you are safe back home. I hope that the shakes soon pass and that you start to feel better each day.

Hi Tammy I also got the shivers in hospital, on the first operation very cold, needed to get covered up,  rolleyes the guys in the ward said one afternoon they thought I had died, as I was so quiet for quite a while, I was not in long enough for anything like that on the second one,  cool and I was at the end of the ward out of the way miles from the nurses station, had to scream Nurse when my IV came out and spurted....OOPS!! they came running like the 100m dash!!!

Now that happened both times I was in.....Derrrr Just ME!!  redface
