Fractured ankle pain

Posted , 2 users are following.

I fractured the bottom of my medial malleolus where it joins the fibula 10 weeks ago, I was fortunate not to require surgery & wore a boot for 3 weeks then an air cast for 4 weeks, i have since been remotely discharged due to the covid19 pandemic however my leg still throbs & constantly feels like i've pulled the muscles in the back of my leg & it throbs at night & i constantly have to take pain killers, has anyone else experienced anything similar?

    Hi Melanie 67,

I am so sorry you are still in pain! I broke the lateral side of my malleolus and did require surgery. I was just released to fully weight bear earlier this week with an aircast and with crutches as needed. I am not experiencing the kind of pain that you are at this point, but know from other posts by people that pain can come any time during recovery. What kind of exercises did you doctor prescribe for you? Have you been doing any? I really hope you feel better soon!! I know it must be so frustrating to still be feeling pain, but try to stay positive if you can. I know that must be a tall order considering. And please keep in touch, no one should feel alone in this. Sending you healing and peaceful vibes!

    Gina
