I had fractured my ankle in July this year. Had it in plaster for six weeks, had a review with consultant yesterday. Had another x ray and consultant confirmed the bone had healed, but I explained to him that I my ankle keeps swelling and is painful. Can't walk very far and he said it could be the soft tissue area may have fragments of cartilage init, but because I have a pacemaker can't have a MRI scan. He has told me to come back in 3 months time.I have to have psyiotherapy . what do i do if it keeps on swelling.I don't have much faith in the consultantbreally

Hi guys, I broke my ankle a week ago, since then I have fell on it and bashed it a few times hopping about homless, and im concerned i have messed it up more or damaged the cast, i will try to go back hospital again today, see if they can xray or recast it if needed, because i really dont want to have surgery on it im struggling to cope as it is.. when my foots raised the cast feels like a sock and it feels like i could almost slip my foot out, do you think theres too much movement? or is this normal? i guess ill have to see what they say, due to being homeless to and worrying about my future ive made a gofundme page, if you know anyone that could help please let me know, gofundme.com/homeless-with-a-broken-ankle i hope you all a speedy covery much love ❤️

I broke my tibia and fibula just above the ankle in early April (2021) so I am dealing with this situation at present. I am 60 years old and have Immune deficiency syndrome, so I am pretty sure that my healing is a bit slower than most. I had surgery 6 days after the break and suffered a fat embolism as well. My recovery has been uneventful and on time. Until now (other than the fat embolism) I have had no problems or set-backs. Just recently I have been having severe pain and swelling, to the point of not being able to bear weight on it some mornings. I am not running a temperature, the leg is not unusually hot or cold, it is not discolored or bearing and rashes. From reading the afore mentioned statements from others it seems that my swelling and pain are normal, and I should continue elevating and icing as well as using anti inflamitories. I will be watching for any further information on this subject.
