Fractured shoulder complications

Hi
A family member recently fractured their shoulder, cause unknown. This wasn't diagnosed when at the hospital and it took a second visit to get things moving.
The family member looked up fractured shoulder complications and told me that one of the possible complications could be fatal. Sadly they away a few weeks after the fracture took place. Not going into it, there are a number of other reasons that are being investigated as to the cause of death but really there isn't enough evidence to point to anything specific and everything is conjecture. There will be an inquest but without anything concrete in all likelihood it isn't going to be able to tell us anything we don't already know.
Given that the cause of death can't determined, is there a chance that it could have been a complication resulting from the fracture?
Please understand that I'm not clasping at straws; I just want to know if this is a possibility that we should ask the coroner to investigate.
Thank you very much for any help and advice.

My only thought is that depending on the type and location of the fracture, a tiny piece of bone fragment could have punctured a lung or the plueral sac which can cause a pneumothorax (collapsed lung). However, that's much more common with a rib fracture than shoulder but it happened to my mom when she broker her clavicle (collarbone) in a car accident. I've also had pneumonia in my lung up much higher toward the shoulder than I ever knew the lungs extended so I know they aren't too far from the shoulder.
Of course there are many possibilities and I'm completely guessing but I hope you get the answers you need.

I know from personal experience that things are covered up because that's why so many people die at hospitals because nobody wants to admit that someone was negligent.
I fell and hurt my leg and had to have 27 stitches and the physician's assistant did not use proper sterilization techniques and my leg ended up getting infected. I was discharged after she did the stitches and within a week I was in the hospital with MRSA, which is a dreaded bacterial infection. I also had to have surgery on my leg and it's never been the same.
It couldn't hurt to have an attorney get involved to check out why it wasn't caught when your family member originally went for their evaluation.
You and your family will be in my prayers.
