Freaking out

I am starting to think I don’t have sjogrens and maybe have scleroderma. I have a red color cheeks, woke up with a weird tiny purple spot under my eye brow. The soles of my feet are bright red in places as well as tops of toes. Reddish palms. I started plaquenil at 100mg a week ago to see how I tolerate it. Strangely I felt slightly better until I noticed this weird skin stuff.  My  Ana was homogenous pattern 1:321. And the sub autoimmune titers that were ordered including Ssa were negative. Has anyone else had this weird redness with sjogrens. I am wondering if lupus. I’d rather that than scleroderma. No offense to anyone that has it. I may google too much but it sounds scary.

I find sclerodoma terrifying ever since I knew someone who had it. My palms & feet are pretty red but I don't have the hardening so I don't worry about it.

how can you tell if you have hardening? I find my palms a little sore right now.

That's not it, in my experience. SS can play havoc with our hands but not in the same way as sclerodoma. Dr. Quack Quack Google serves only to drive us insane. If we can possibly back away from googling symptoms, IMO we have a better chance of enjoying life as much as possible.

since you have just started this medication, could it be the reason for the rash?

I started it a few weeks ago at 100 mg every other day. Then 100 per day. Just started 200 last night. Why would the rash look like scleroderma and it’s warm to touch on my face sometimes. Scleroderma can cause sicca syndrome. So I am wondering if i actually have scleroderma and not sjogrens. The only think is- my symptoms started with the dry mouth about a year ago.

There is a sclerodoma forum and probably some specific info somewhere on Patient.

I thought you said you started it only a week ago. I guess that if it was a reaction to the medication, the rush would spread and not just stay on your face. So if it has not spread, you are right in that it is not a reaction. I hope you find your answers soon.
