went to the eye doctor last week jusf for a routine exam, i see great- only reason i wanted to go was bc it had been 9 years and im getting closer to 40- never had any eye issues until this... she looks at my eyees after its all said and done and ask if i had any family with glaucoma.. immediatley went into some panic as to why.. she procreeds to tell my rims look thinner than last time which was almost 10 years ago.... she non chaltently says maybe she isht looking at them clearly... then tells me she would have to do another test to make sure. im assuming the oct test. -- i just feel so lost and broken, i looked up many other cases and many can be confused with physiological cupping...

Did your eye doctor do a pressure test?I dont mean the puff test but a proper tonometer test. ? That may be the test she is referring to or yes, possibly the OCT test.

If you have any relative with glaucoma you are at higher risk of getting it but it doesnt mean you will lose your sight altogether. Simple eye drops are the first treatment. One per eye per day. I have been on this regime now for over 10 years and I am perfectly fine.

Glaucoma is one of those painless things that you can develop and you know nothing is amiss until it is too late, so you are now being monitored and at 40 yrs you stand a very good chance of keeping your good eyesight.

This is why its recommended to get an eye test every 2 years. Do make sure you follow all your eye doctors recommendations now and try not to worry too much. Dont go Googling all sorts of horror stories. Trust your doctor.
