Free fluid around ovary

Hello I had a transvaginal scan yesterday after a scan in November showed enlarged ovaries, one being with heterogenous texture and the other with two simple cysts.so yesterday's scan was a follow up to check things.one ovary showing heterogenous texture and the other she couldnt see as there was free fluid around the ovary.this is the ovary which had two simple cysts on it in November.my question could they have dissolved and caused that free fluid I'm Not sure or is it something else to worry about? She told me to follow up with gyno at nxt appt in February. If she was very concerned would she have referred me earlier? I suffer extreme health anxiety and am not coping at all.thankyou in advance Michelle xx

I am not a dr but I do know that cyst dissolve often. I have a 7.5 cm cyst and they let it go for 8 weeks to see if it would go away. Unfortunaly mine did not and it required a very minimal surgery to remove. Drs to me seem very laid back when it comes to cyst. My dr also ordered the c125 blood test to see if it came back positive for possible cancer. Try not to worry and I hope you feel better soon

    Hi Michelle,

Firstly, it's highly unlikely (if not impossible) that your cysts have dissolved, as what they are made of doesn't simply dissolve. Some cysts are self-resolving and may pass out during bleeding (have you had periods after the first scan?)
