FREESTYLE LIBRE SENSOR

HI I'm type 1 diabetic and fairly new on here. Heard that this sensor is supposedly good and convenient to check the blood sugar level. Can anyone here guide me as to how i could get it on prescription and is this for all diabetes patients recently introduced by the NHS. THANK YOU

    hi there

it has its good points and drawbacks like most things! where i live, our local CCG ration it only to those with type 1 diabetes and some strict criteria have to be met, such as pregnancy, pump therapy, at risk of disabling hypos etc... this will vary with location. so ask your hospital diabetes team where you are who qualifies. you'd still need a back up way of testing (finger pricking) if you drive. if you cant have it on NHS prescription then you could decide to self fund and get it on amazon.
