Friction burn or herpes... please help

I recently had rough sex with my partner and it did hurt at the time due to dryness. therefore after sex I thought I had ripped slightly. around 2 days later I was struggling to urinate so thought I had a water infection and got antibiotics from my gp remotely due to covid 19. however the tablets didnt help at all and what originally looked like small cuts around my vulva now look more like ulcers. I'm worried it is herpes. the stinging and burning sensation is only when I pass urine the rest of the time it feels fine. could this be friction and razor burn due to shaving just before sex or is this definitely herpes? please help?? TIA

Base on the pictures, I can say its herpes. You better call or have an appointment in person to your doctor.

thanks so much for your reply. I have contacted my local gp who has referred me to ring the local sexual health helpline and just waiting for them to phone me back. obviously things are more difficult being seen in person due to covid 19. my partner doesnt have any symptoms so dont know how I've got it if it is herpes

Dear vic,
This is genital herpes, unfortunately. Your doctor (or A&E dept if you can't access a local GU/STD clinic) should give you aciclovir medication that you need to start asap. Take painkillers like paracetamol, rest in bed, warm salt baths if you find peeing difficult (pee into the bath water). Buy lidocaine cream or gel from the local pharmacist/drugstore and apply them to the sores if you need immediate relief. Priority now is to start aciclovir asap.

thanks so much for your reply I'm still waiting for the doctor from the sexual health clinic to ring me back. the gp said it would be some time today so hopefully I'll hear soon. I've applied aquaphor and that seems to have really helped when peeing. thanks for all your advice

hi what was you test results? i have something that looks the same way but dont understand how i got it. been with a long term partner. i got swabbed and tested waiting for my results and its killing me im so scared. what did you do? what was the results?

I was exactly the same panicking but honestly there's no need too. just relax youll be fine. my test came back and I had type 1 herpes - oral form so very unlikely ill ever have another break out again. I was prescribed some tablets and it went away after about 2 days and I've been totally fine ever since. hope you get sorted

there's no need to be scared.. easy for me to say I know but trust me you will be fine. I was prescribed some tablets and it went away after about 2 days and I've been totally fine ever since. the doctor said I must of caught it from oral sex as I've nevrr had a oral Coldsore before so hence how I caught it as I had no immunities to it. hope you get sorted.

just saw this post and wanted to say great attitude Vic, herpes normally isnt that bad and most people have it in some form and many people have no idea. All about breaking down the stigma and posts like this help people understand its super common and you can keep calm and carry on.

yeah totally.. but I'm proof it actually isn't bad and no need to stress. hopefully more people will see this and find it easier knowing the majority of people actually carry the herpes virus is one way or another

I have 3 really small ones that form a circle on the inner of my vagina lips. I'm sure I have Hsv-2
because i've seen pictures that look alot similiar to mine but im just scared to get tested for it .

Did you find out how you got it? I think I may have it and am freaking out because i have been with my spouse for 23+ years exclusively and cant figure out how I may have gotten it.
