Frightened and anxious day and night

put on 50mg Sertraline a week ago.  Keep breaking down in tears, frightened, anxious, cannot make decisions (shall I put margarine on a piece of bread, or jam, or both?) is an example. Has anyone been through this? I have a few Diazapam. Should I ignore them? I live in Cambridge.

Hi terry firstly I wouldn't do the diazepam.I've been on sertraline for over a year 100mg.I went on them for the reasons you are feeling now crying etc. I think they take a month or so to really work but I would call your gp for advice cos they may not be right for you. Good luck and don't panic!

    Hi terry33444

the best thing is as jcee says, stay in touch with gp. And not a good ideamixing different meds without gp telling you to do that. I know only one thing...... I'm no pharmacist!! Hope all is well for you and you get sorted.

Its hard to get to sleep but I'm 36 weeks pregnant so just riding it out x

    Hi Terry,

So sorry you are struggling! Yes I have gone through this and there can be so many dynamics contributing to it and fortunately there are great resources to help you handle what medication alone cannot cover.

For now just know that it can take several weeks and longer for the medication to work it's magic. It would not be wise to take any other medications without guidance from your doctor.

Until then perhaps consider professional support to help you learn relaxation techniques and learn more about yourself so you can tackle this and begin enjoying life more.

    Wishing the best for you!

I was the same but it will take a while for the tablets to work and you may go up to 100 as I di . After a few weeks the transformation was phenomenal for me I personally avoided the diasapam but this is a matter for you and your medical professional. Good luck jon

Thanks. The hours and days pass painfully slow but I hope the waiting will produce as good a result for me as for you.
