Frightening HH Experiences

I'm 18 and have only recently started experiencing what i believe to be HH. Over the past 6 months i have had 4 experiences.

The first was one that seems commen, a large Spider scuttling towards me up the bed, I thre my bedsheets at it, which appeared to knock it off the bed, i turned the lights on and plucked up the courage some minutes later to look underneath, but there was nothing there.

I felt increasingly worried about this after reading so many other people have had excactly the same experience with the spider hallucination, i am not particularly fearfull of spiders but was petrified in my dream. Surely it can't be coincidental that so many people are seing excactly the same thing?

My second experience was very similar but in place of the spider was what appeared to be a severed hand.

Thirdly was my most traumatic experience, but however didnt seem as real as the other 3. It involved hearing a knock on my door, went to investigate cautiously and there was a little boy sitting on the floor in the dark with a laptop, i was petrified, there was some dialogue between me and the boy who then disapeared when i turned to look at the laptop, which inturn dissapeared as i ran back into my room. But i remember waking up shortly after, so i am not sure if it was mearly a dream, or wether i maneged to get back to bed after the experience.

My latest HH experience occured last night, a swarm of flies appeared infront of my eyes and appeard to be trying to go into my face, i put the blankets over my head and when i re-emerged there was nothing there. This was far more reaslistic than the 3rd episode and much more alike to the 1st and 2nd.

After having read others experiences i feel lucky to have not suffered so serverely as most. Fingers crossed!!

My Email ***** if anyone would like to talk about there experiences. I had to input the spaces inbetween charactors in my email adress to allow i to be posted, so they will need to be taken out.

Cheers

I wonder if theres any cure to this or if we just need to deal with it sad x

Ive noticed if i put a small light on i can sleep through the night but find it a little embarssing that i am 23 yrs old and need to sleep with the light on! lol

    Hi,

I have always suffered from these from a young age. One of my earliest memories is of leaving my bed to get in with my parents because I would wake up to see a bonfire on top of my wardrobe and then my bed would start spinning!!! It went away when I was in my teens and came back intermittently over the years, and with a vengeance after my daughter was born, probably brought on by sleep deprivation smile

I sometimes wake in a panic and trying to 'escape' from my husband because I think he is a stranger trying to get me. I also ran downstairs to get away from my daughter when she woke me up (she is 4).

The hallucinations I see tend to be spiders, spaceships, shapes or other objects, but never people, fortunately. I am occasionally so convinced that these are real that I have to put the light on and check the room.

Recently, to help my daughter we have started leaving the bathroom light on through the night. Amazingly,as in the earlier post, this has reduced the number of times the hallucinations occur.

Yes, it might be embarrassing to admit you need the light on to sleep, but whatever helps! And I'm a lot older than 23..

I would also be interested to know how other people deal with this, as I am reluctant to go and try to explain it to a doctor.

    Hello!

I've searched all over the internet for \"spider dreams, real spider wake up dreams, waking up during sleep\" my goodness...it's difficult when you have no idea what it could be! I saw your post...and in a way I'm relieved.

This first started a few years ago, I don't mind spiders as long as I don't have to touch them or anything. But I woke up in a state of shock after seeing a real live spider coming down at me from the ceiling, I could swear it was real. It fell on my bed, I actually took all the sheets off my bed twice to find it. Anyway it didn't happen again till about 2 years later...I was in hospital at the time, maybe that had alot to do with it occuring again. But I jumped outta that bed as if world war 3 was going on, turned the lights on, called the nurse...I was shaking, it was awful. Spider again.

It was all fine till yesterday, I always thought \"ok, it's just my spider dream and you're nuts\". Last night it happened again, I went to bed, half an hour later (I looked at the clock) I woke up shaking, turned the light on. I had a big bug right in front of my eyes, something like a cockroach on the wall. It was just sitting there. (My flat has as much as a fruitfly in it) I didn't know whether to scream, or move, it was really scary. As soon as I turned the light on, it was gone. I searched the sheets again.

It's really starting to scare me now, and what I just read about the boy with the laptop, my god if anything like that happened I'd totally freak out!! Poor you!! I honestly don't know what I'd do if I saw squirrels and people...I've been having the dreams while sleeping alone, sometimes I wish for someone to be around to experience it! I can only tell people. And all I get is what a spider in a dream means. I look into symbols from dreams, and it's not that or about what it means, it's so real!!!

I'm hoping it won't happen again...but it seems to be uncontrolable!
