From 100mg to 150mg

Hi all, I started Sertraline on July 1st, 50mg for six weeks, then went to 100mg for ten weeks, no real improvement on either dosage, I saw a psychiatrist on Monday and he told me to go up to 150mg, I did this starting Monday evening but I'm really struggling, I'm VERY low and miserable and helpless. I've been told before that an increase in dosage brings back the heightened/increased anxiety/depression, is this normal? Am I feeling worse because of the increase? Any replies would be very much appreciated, thank you ....Luke

You have my sympathy on this. I started back on zoloft after trying to be zoloft free for 3 months. Went back on it 2 weeks ago. Only at .25mg, but had severe anxiety, depression, and inner agitation. Increased dosages are known to cause this in many people. Most often you feel worse before you get better. And I'm only on .25mg. Since it takes up to 6 weeks to feel the positive effects, I'm holding out til then. Many doctors increase the dose so fast and I'm not sure why. This drug causes so much physical and mental discomfort when going off them. It's no surprise to me that starting them up causes much discomfort too.

Yeah it's hit me for six, physically and mentally, I'll do my best to give the 150mg six weeks at least like I did with 50 and 100.
All the best Lisa
