From good day to bad day!

Had a good day yesterday...day 23 of 100mg. Was able to have a shower for the first time in weeks, get dressed and spent most of the day with my family in the living room.  Felt breathless at times but my positivity reassured me hat it couldn't harm me. Today....got up, washed and dressed, made Sunday lunch, feeling breathless and distracted the whole time. Couldn't eat my dinner. Instead, had to take a diazepam and go to bed. Feeling really fed up! Genuinely thought I had turned a corner yesterday! Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks on sertraline...17 days on 50mg and 25 days on 100mg. When will I feel back to myself again???

You are almost there won't be long now till more better days arrive. Keep thinking positive and know that these meds are starting to work . Took me 10 weeks to feel a bit more normal .

Thank you John. I think I'll sit on 100mg for another week and if I'm. Or making good headway after that I might have to increase to 150mg. GP wanted me to increase to hat last week but I thought it was too soon. Are you totally better now?

The good day is a great sign that soon once the sertraline is fully settled you should feel like that most days smile keep going! See it as a sign of what’s to come and the bad day is just the meds settling.

Thank you Ella. I was so disheartened. Strangely enough, after my good day yesterday I couldn't sleep last night...think the last time I looked at the clock it was as 3.30am! I was up again at 9.30am. I need 8 hours normally so perhaps lack of sleep added to everything. How are you doing now?

    Hi Gabrielle,

Hopefully it will be of help to you to hear that I have been following a very similar pattern, so you're not alone in your experience. Just over 6 weeks in, I seem to have a reasonable day followed by a shocker. When you have a good day it's very tempting to think you've cracked it, but sadly it isn't so simple. Hopefully we will both have more & more good days soon.

Here's hoping Lawrence! I've read many posts where folk have said it can take 8-10 weeks and sometimes dose increases are needed too. I've been off work since the end of October and whilst my boss has been very understanding this far, I'm not sure how much longer she will remain so. Fingers crossed we turn the corner to normality (whatever that is) really soon.
