Frozen fingers

I have osteoarthritis in both hands. About 4 years ago the fingers on my left hand became swollen in the joints with the arthritis. after some time they slowly begun to become stiff and frozen to the point now where I can not make a fist, or hold coins in my hand.
I've been to doctors and a specialist who could not help and did not know what to do next.
In the last 3 months I have been going to a Osteopath where she has been helping to try to move the finger joints and has never seen anything like it. She has been trying to do some research on Frozen fingers with osteoarthritis and has only found information where the fingers have curled up and not frozen straight. Mine are straight as and are painful when knocked. My fingers are now thin to the point of having my rings resized.
?Would love to hear if anyone else has this and what could be done to help with movement. I use to play the guitar and Uke, but can not put my fingers on the strings now.
thanks

Hello Kathy.I'm a musician who plays guitar and piano.I have a very similar problem where I cannot make a fist, and struggle to hold a cup of tea etc.Fingers on curled but not frozen.I see rheumatologists at St Thomas's Hospital Westminster.I've tried boron, magnesium and many other things to no avail,Cannabis hemp oil ( my one is called hemp aid stick ) massaged into the fingers is painful, but helps a fair bit in easing the pain and loosens the fingers a bit.I have been offered all the medication, but thankfully my Mum is a bio chemist, and she said " don't you dare try methatrexate " .Plus a dear friend who was on that stuff for 9 years.Gave up drink, and then ended up with a distressed liver. She died a week ago.I tried hydroxycloroquine and the side effects were awful.Still searching for natural ways to help. The rheumatologist told me to drink plenty of water;which has helped. At least I can play my acoustic's a bit.Not how I would like, but at least I can play.If I come across anything that might help you Kathy.I'll get in touch.
