Frozen Shoulder - Has anyone tried Prolotherapy to heal this condition?

I was diagnosed with Frozen Shoulder two months ago - confirmed with an MRI - in my right shoulder. Age 46. It started 3-4 months ago. I fell off my step-daughter's hoover board even after my husband told me not to get on it. Of course he was right and I fell quite hard on my hip and shoulder. Nothing broken, but I think that was the cause of the FS. Lesson learned; I'm clearly not 25 any more.
The pain is just as excruciating as everyone says.... However, I still have about 90 degree mobility, but have trouble doing my hair and reaching behind at all.
My husband had amazing results with Prolotherapy on his torn tendon in his elbow, so he suggested I try it for the FS. I've had one shot (9/1/17) and another scheduled for this Friday (9/22/17). My mobility has not improved, but I dare say the pain has subsided slightly. Sleeping better at night - only waking 1-2 times - of course with the help of Ambien. Hoping the second treatment provides additional relief.
Anyone one else out there try Prolotherapy for FS, and what were your results?

I suffered what was medically described as "frozen shoulder" earlier this year. I would normally go n see a muscle nerve and specialist i know but she was away. I have had sciatic nerve problems over the years and she has fixed this in 2 minutes. But she was away and i was in a fair amount of pain. So i went to the doc who said i needed a MRI which they said i would need hydrodilatation surgery. In other words they would inject steroids into my shoulder. I thought geez this must be a serious shoulder problem. So they take me to an operating theatre, cover me in surgical plastic, make an X on my shoulder and guide the needles in by camera. Theres about 8 people involved in the process if you can believe that. (all at tax payers expense). It never hurt at all. But a few days after the procedure nothing had changed. Finally my muscle nerve lady came back. I went to see and she said i had a pinched nerve in my bicep. One minute later i had about 95% movement at a cost of $70. Then all i have done is stretch my arm. So much for the medical profession. To me frozen shoulder is the same as sciatica. You pinch a nerve, it contracts and rubs on a bone and you experience the sensation that something is broken. So, you have to untwist the nerve from the tendon and continue stretching.

I had four Prolotherapy shots in my affected shoulder over the course of 4-5 months. They were incredibly painful and did not relieve the pain immediately. In fact, the shot causes inflammation for 24-48 hours and that makes it all the more painful. However, I do believe that it has helped me heal faster. I got FS in June 2017. The mind blowing pain continued throughout December. It was so bad my husband had to help dress me for 4-5 months. I had my Prolotherapy shots from August through December. In January the pain started to subside. I could sleep throughout the night without sharp pains. I started sleeping on my affected side in Feb/.March. I am now 12 months into this and definitely in the thawing phase. I would say on a scale of 1-10, my pain is a 1-3 now, whereas during the first six months it was a 12 (out of 10)! My range of motion is also getting better each day. Sorry, for the delay in responding. I just got back from a week long vacation from Hawaii with my son for his High School graduation present.... and we snorkeled and went ATVing. Granted my should was very sore, but I did it without pain.
So, net-net, I think the Prolotherapy helped, but it is not a quick easy miracle cure. It takes multiple shots and months.
But, you will get better. I am living proof.
