FROZEN SHOULDER SHOULD I BE OFF WORK

I have had frozen shoulder for about 4 months now, diagnosed by GP and phsiotherapist. Shoulder and arm painful and aching all time even with painkillers. movement very limited. I knocked shoulder today when walking through a doorway and the agony lasted 2 minutes. Also happened when my dog was in my way and I had to move suddenly. I never experienced pain like that before. can't sleep etc and can't tie my hair up for work (wake my kids up to do it for me) washing hair one handed just about coping. Finding work and driving very difficult. keep thinking about going off sick, but surely can't stay of sick for months on end. Can't decided what to do about work. I am a home help and need to be able to shower, folk and help them dress etc. (could do with the help myself)..... fed up!
ps physio and steroid injection no help

I know it's hard to believe but the more still you keep the arm the more it will hurt! I wonder if I should have done the MAU. A lot of people swear by it. I am on my 2nd frozen shoulder and I'm opting out but only because I believe I have bursitis, tendonits etc so I just don't think in my case it's wise.
Are you doing the bands?

I'm not using bands but I'll go out and get some tomorrow. Both the doctor, chiropractor and the consultant told me to keep he arm moving so I have been, as much as I can. But I'm graduall losing he use of it as it gets more and more painful. Its almost too painful to drive now, i usually have tears in my eyes, if not rolling down my face as I change gear! The handbrake is a right hand job, no way h left can do it.

Driving hurts so much, doesn't it. Some days are better than others but I struggle changing gears too - an automatic would be much better. I only drive short distances these says and not often. I'm seeing my surgeon in two weeks to discuss arthroscopic capsular release which I hope to have done soon as I'm not getting any better. I'm frozen up pretty badly with barely any movement left in my affected arm. I can't shave under my arms, nor can I eat my dinner with a knife and fork - I have to stand at the table to cut up my food like a child then I can sit down to eat using my fork.
Good luck with your op!

I went through 2 of these first on my left shoulder than 1 year after all was healed, on my right.
It's the most incredibly painful thing I've ever had to deal with, much worse than the 3 childbirths that before this I considered the most painful thing.
I've gotten through both the first was disaster, with a load of professionals doing all kinds of things that just seem to make everything worse. This hell lasted for 3 years. For the second one, I decided not to get 'help' because reading this forum and talking to people made me realize that science is not evolving and the 'cure' hasn't really been found.
I'm one year into this almost and most of the pain has gone. I've been using my arm quite normally for about 6 months but not all the freeze is over. Without help, without force or heavy therapies I can say that using it is very important in the healing process forcing it possibly the most damaging thing you can do or allow others to do to you.
Try keeping it in action, carrying things if you can, cleaning tables, sweeping, playing 'careful' tennis and mostly if possible swimming but don't allow it to hurt, the moment it hurts carry-on but softer in a different position, for me it worked wonders.
Good luck to you all. the pain and freeze will pass!

Just one question to the ones that already had a frozen shoulder in the past. How did you feel when your shoulder started thawing???Did you have any pain, did it feel numb, how exactly did it feel?
