Fructose breath test was negative but i was so sick from the drink... I am so confused. So my endoscopy and colonoscopy and stool test were negative yet I still have diarrhea and and stomach pains. Somtimes my bowel moments change to can't go at all and then when I go it's water or a mix... I'm so confused. I'm losing weight and I have no weight to lose. In 22 yrs old and im 95lbs. Can foods make u sick even if tests were negative??. I'm fine when I eat a plain plain plain diet.... I need some help.... doctors might redue the exams if they feel they need to.. but is it possible with ibs everything be negative but still have reacrions....

I can't have gluten or dairy I know for sure.

If all your tests are negative, IBS can be diagnosed.  It doesn't affect the structure of your bowel because the condition is functional.  That is why your colonoscopy was clear.  Did the drink you had to take for the fructose test contain chemicals other than fructose? It may not have been the fructose you reacted to but other substances in the drink if there were any.  That may explain why the fructose test came back negative but you still got sick.  I usually react to everything the doctor gives me because my body treats it as a foreign invader.

It was a take home fructose test. So I had to poor the pure fructose packet into warm water let it desolve and drink it.

Did you tell your doctor that the test made you sick and what did he/she say?  Have you had an official diagnosis of IBS.
