Frustrated

About 2 months ago I started noticing the numb, tining, burning symptoms. At first, my fingers and forearms were victim. I went to the doctor to be proactive and they suggested I might have nerve issues newr my elbows. I also expressed my concern over my neck and face maybe feeling numb... He blew that off.
Later that week at my job the symptoms got progressively worse. The symptoms had reached my face, some days up to my forehead. Over the next few weeks symptoms varied from day to day, feeling, and area.
I had to wait about a month to get into a specialist. This is when I noticed my legs and feet starting to feel strange as well. I was very frustrated with the nerve specialist, as he shrugged most of it off like.. Hey, that's all pretty common. I did get an xray done on my neck. He basically said I can be as foreward as I want to with the pain to help mask it. I am not a huge fan of medicines, nor did I feel like I truly understood what could be going on.. So I agreed to the basic plan of trying PT. He also put me on Gabapentin. Almost a month in, neither have worked.
The PT has made all of this more puzzling. These people are great but just as baffled, as my symptoms are all over... Likelihood of me having a spinal related nerve issue seeming slim.
Within the past week, the numbness has gotten extremely bad in my feet and legs. I am losing sleep because my legs feel restless. Within the past two days, my right side is now worse when all along my symptoms have been equal on both sides. My entire right foot and up my shin is completely numb, along with the right side of my face. I am baffled because this progressively spreads and is something new.
I have done a lot of reading and research (mostly because it seems like that's how you get any understanding) and am trying options on my own like B12 supplements. I also have done a lot of reading about the pre-diabetic effects that could cause nerve issues. Until I have my next appointment (2 weeks from now) with the specialist, I'm praying somethibg gets easier.

I eventually got to see one two weeks ago for ongoing headaches, numbness that changed to almost complete lack of feeling in my left foot making it difficult to walk. I was also suffering from dizziness and unsteadiness when standing.
I had a thorough examination from the neurologist who arranged for a head MRI scan that I had last week. A head CT scan in January had not shown anything. I had 14 different blood tests including one for genetic problems and am now waiting for nerve conduction tests.I had previously been to an orthopedic consultant who was no help saying that if it came from my lower back that surgery could make it worse. If it was caused by neuropathy that there are over fifty types and difficult to diagnose which one.

I'm sorry you are having these problems. Without knowing your background, I can only offer general suggestions. Firstly, does diabetes run in your family? If so, then it is imperative to eat correctly; preferably protein
/ healthy carbs and fats- small meals every 3 hours throughout the day for blood sugar stabilization. Limiting refined carbs is important in this. The numbness could be any number of reasons- a pinched nerve, etc. Vitamin b12 can help ( taken sublinqually and the methyl form is best) and you might want to take some magnesium glycinate for the restless legs. Also, iron deficiency can also cause restless leg syndrome. ( have your doctor test to see if you're anemic.) Try cleaning up your diet with fresh vegetables, fruit and lean meats...organic if you can find/afford them. And filtered water. And try the supplements individually to see how they do. Are you exposed to a lot of chemicals? Because they can also affect how your body responds.
best,
sharon

I have addressed my diet, processed sugar specifically. I am curious to see if it makes an impact after a couple weeks.
Follow up appointment next week.
