    Hi

sorry to hear you have this trouble. Hopefully your operation will be planned soon.

The threads in this topic have lots of good information and many people,  including myself, say that a very healthy diet, including lots of vegetables for a few months, can help you heal once you have an abscess.

Please let us know how you get on or if you have any further questions please ask.

    take care

What country are you in? I'm guessing not the U.S.? When I knew what was happening with me I called a colorectal surgeon and they insisted on seeing me that week! However, if you have an abcess I would have thought it would have presented itself by now. I was in excruciating pain before my first drain, like ER pain. If you need to be seen, you need to insist on it!! An abcess can burst and cause a severe infection. Best of luck, get in to see a surgeon right away.
