Full of energy

For the first time in months I'm full of energy - I know it won't last, but boy, what a good feeling :run: I've done some much needed housework and now I'm going to sit down in front of the TV and watch Wimbledon. I'm learning how to pace myself, hope some of you are feeling good today :D

Great to hear you dispensing with the walking aids Mrs K. Fingers crossed for you. Its so tempting to get out in the garden and go mad isn't it, just take it easy (says she who spent most of last evening out there weeding the terrace!). And Mrs G: I have this most wonderful picture of you kneeling by the side of the bath washing your horses backs  I'm guessing a hose pipe is more likely? I feel so lucky to be going to Spain again this year. Its my favourite holiday of the year. The drive through the Pyrenees still takes my breath away and I've been going since 1984! I just wish you could all come but it would be a bit of a squeeze in the car! I'm happy to hear that 7.5mgs is considered a pretty safe steroid dose. I'll be on 8mgs when we leave for Spain (in three weeks time) but intend staying on that until I get back. I started reducing from 10mgs on the 1st April following my consultant's slow, slow, slow approach but my body doesn't seem to have noticed, so maybe she's on to something. I think I'm a bit of a guinea pig - there doesn't seem to be anyone else on this site using this method. I wonder how low I can get before my body cottons on!!! Off to have another giggle about the horses bath!

Hm I was interested in your consultants reduction programme but didnt follow it but have taken 2 months to go from 10mg to 7.5

The problem is that it is all trial and error isnt it ? Whe I had my first bout I was on 1mg in 12months with ESR and CRP at 2 and not a blip in sight This time it will be 2 years in October and it has certainly been a roller coaster I am certainly not going down more than .5 at a time from now on As I seem to have no problem with the non enteric coated tablets ( so far ) it does give me more flexability

Yes bathing horses involves a lot of water and hose pipes and human shampoo !! I did use Johnsons baby bath but the nurse at the surgery ( when I was having my blood tests !! ) suggested natiural tea tree oil shampoo ( expensive !!) so thats their latest They always swish their wet tails over you like dogs shake when they are wet so you end up as wet as they do !!

Glad its only Bournemouth airport Sat morn for me and also glad you can still manage your normal holiday it is horrible having to give up things

    Best wishes Mrs G

Hi Mrs G. Bournemouth Airport's a dream isn't it? Although when we flew Ryanair in February the plane parked so far out I think we walked half the journey!! (It was cold and wet so probably made it seem further). I'm just wondering how many bottles of shampoo it takes to wash a horse :yikes: At the moment my PMR seems to be following your first bout. I so hope it continues. My reduction programme entails reducing 1mg over a 7 week period: Week 1 - 1 day x 9mgs and 6 days x 10mgs. Week 2 - 2 by 9mgs and 5 x 10mgs and so on until forever it seems! Still, while its working I'm not knocking it. Have a great holiday and trust your horses are happy with their new hairdo!

If you like that one you'll like this ( as they say on the Book Show )

Some neighbours in the village have a whole gaggle of Chihuahuas and one day we were discussing the mutually interesting job of dog washing and we wondered how long it took. \"Oh, not long We fill the bath, C gets in and I hand them to her one at a time; she washes them and I dry them\"

Note who draws the short straw. BettyE
